Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 40GB From Customer's order The computer was fine when we left in one evening. When we turned it on the next morning, the computer did not come up (just blinks). Then we turned it off and restarted. It came up with the message "Press F1". Once F1 was pressed, it came up with the same message "Press F1". That continued for few times. Then we had sent the computer to our IT department. They told us: BIOS: acknowledges Hard Drive. Dell IDE Diagnostics: Error reading drive. Knoppix: No Hard Drive found.

Maxtor 6Y120M0 120 GB From Customer's order We had bad weather, Computer was plugged into UPS. I shut down the machine as a precaution and it never booted up again the next day. The drive is recognized correctly in the Bios, There is no clicking and the drive seems to be spinning from what I can tell. I put the drive in a working machine to try to recover data, Windows saw the drive in the device manager, but disk management won't detect it or put it online, My Computer doesn't show it either.

Maxtor 6B200P00 200 GB external From Customer's order Drive is failed in OS. I was using my external and had shut it off because I did not need it at the time. When I turned it back on, my computer system (Windows XP) wouldn't read it and my password screen didn't come up.

Maxtor 6E030L0 30 GB From Customer's order Though it is a 6E030L0510213 MAXTOR DiamondMax Plus 8 30 GB Hard Drive, it is detected as a 40G N40P (Factory name). I have tried inputting the correct values for Cyl/Hds/Sec but the drive fails and is unreadable. As far as I can tell the actual data is fine and the drive is fine, it's just this error that changes the firmware settings back to the N40P values.
