This WD Passort is damaged due to being dropped. I suspect some sort of corruption to the start files or maybe there is a physical damage too. Tried a software program with no luck. I rely you can do better than that. Most of the data are personal photos, emails are a big value to me too. Thanks.

Thanks for all your help in extracting the data from damaged hard disk. I got the new disk with all my data on it. I'll look after this one more close, so it won't fall down on me ))) It's too hard lesson to absorb when all your memories over years get disappeared in a moment... but it's good to have it all back! It fell down from the bookshelf and stopped working, it powes up and clicks, it's not showing in computer either. I have some personal files, four very important work presentations I've been working on for about two months. Anything to it - would be great!

Nothing that I recall led to the hard drive failure. It's under the warranty and the new hard drive has been sent me from Western Digital. Need the files to be recovered from the broken drive, put the recovered data on CD and return it with the damaged drive back to me, so I'll return it to WD. All data is equal value and important to me, and it'll be in my user profile under 'My Documents', and 'Desktop', maybe somewhere else - can't remember putting anything out of order, but can't confirm for sure. Don't bother with the system files or program files. If you need any questions please let me know.

After recovery:

I received discs with my files and copied it to the new hard disk. Please erase my saved data from you drive. Thanks for your support and good work in restoring these files.
