For NAS / RAID-array / Fusion Drive - basic info
Do you have an open drive or drive with traces of tampering with?
When the hard drive hermetic seal is broken and/or damaged parts replaced - it is a tampered drive.
Tampered drive fee is a charge for a second data recovery attempt which is always more difficult and requires an extra work.
Examples of tampered and not tampered with drives
• Tampered with drive: when seals are broken, punched, removed, or have traces of peeling
• Not tampered with drive: removing HDD from its external case is not considered as a tampered drive, as long as the actual drive is in its original condition; all seals and labels are intact; all original parts.
The hard drive might have been already opened when it was taken to another data recovery laboratory or computer store for diagnostic or estimation, or any sorts of fix-attempt.
Not shure if drive was open before?
