Hitachi HTC424040F9AT00 40GB laptop
From Customer's order
This failed hard drive from Toshiba computer.
No events leading up to failure. Just froze up out of the blue. My company's internal tech support people tried to fix/recover data, but I'm not sure what they did, but they could not help me of getting the data. Hard drive makes a loud sound; not in BIOS either.
After recovery:
Thank you for all your help in recovering my data.

From Customer's order
I work for a small computer firm in Norway. One of my costumers has a broken
Seagate ST340823A, Firmware 3.39, 40GB. It seams like the disk is dead because the plate inside doesn't spin around.
After recovery:
Thank you for the great job in recovering our data. Tnx :-)

Events:
The computer was on the ground and a person accidentally kicked the side of the computer (exactly where the hard drive is located).
Recovery Attempts (3 months ago):
1.) Used an enclosure to try to extract data. Failed.
2.) Tried to bypass the OS by booting Linux from a CD. Failed.
3.) Sent it to a hard drive specialist's company. They couldn't do it for under $500, so I got it back. Failed.
However, the actual hard drive was never manually tampered with.
After recovery:
THANK YOU! Got it all back, looks perfect...
