The hard drive is clicking; Drive was not moved over the last few months. It started with occasional problems while starting up. Yesterday, I left the laptop on over night and this morning, the screen said: Operating system not found. Several attempts to start it failed and another laptop could also not access the hard drive.

Broken IC25N060ATMR04-0 drive

Unable to boot laptop, have had it looked at and told that the hard drive starts spinning but will not continue to spin. OS is Windows XP. Tried to recover files by making drive a slave and booting from another drive and this is when it was decided that the drive was not continuing to spin after initial start-up. No attempt was made to repair drive after this was decided on as problem, suggested I would have to send to someone with clean room and expertise in this type of problem.
