Freezing the computer; I first noticed that I had lost about 6-months of Contact info data. Then two weeks later the computer froze while I was downloading pictures from my camera. How to fix a crashed hard drive. Seagate ST94811A

Unable to access the drive. Drive is 3 years old, spun up and gave Windows license error, after reboot would not return to OS, would just spin up and then spin down. Drive was not opened but was hooked to working system to see if it could be accessed.
