About their lost and found files

After reboot the hard drive lost files, Fireball Plus KA 6.4 GB

HD was working in old computer. Removed HD and installed in a new computer as a second drive. Moved the jumpers from Master to 'cable select'. Windows XP did not detect the HD. Powered down the PC and disconnected power cord. Moved the jumper setting to 'slave'. Again XP did not detect the HD. Opened BIOS and noted that BIOS did not recognize the HD. Exited out of BIOS and started computer. Noticed that the HD is not spinning or clicking. I don't believe that it was spinning or clicking the first time I installed in the new computer. I opened the cover, did not touch anything and placed cover back on.

Fireball Plus AS Fix HDD or retrieve files

The drive does not make noise and was not recognized by Bios. It is from a six year old Dell 8100. I'd used only about half of the 40 GB... However, I need the data, particularly the photographs, from my old drive for a 90th Birthday celebration that won't come around again. How quickly can you recover my data?
