Drive failed on Operating system, makes unusual sound: clicking-ticking. Didn't try anything, was too afraid to make it worse. Drive not opened, parts are original. Most important to save is email files, then MS PP files, but ideally would by nice to get it all restored, except the system files.

Laptop did not boot up, warned of pending hard drive failure. Best Buy Techs could not copy from drive, said 'too many bad sectors', suggested the professional data recovery service.

Drive DOESN'T SPIN. The drive fell about 3 feet to the carpeting...I wouldn't think could have done any physical damage but I guess so. I took it to a local comp tech and he was unable to get it to respond at all...didn't open hd/ only case. No software attempts at all.
