Click of Death, Drive Shows in BIOS and Spins up Properly. Cannot access the data - tried to slave the drive, tried external enclosure, tried on another computers - all the same, nothing!

... got my data and would like to let you know everything seems all right. What a relief! Thank you so much for your great work ...

Seagate Backup Plus external

Unable to access the drive. I was using Rebit software to back up word files and emails to this external hard drive.
My PC began crashing and I soon noticed I could not access the external hard drive.

This is great news. Thanks so much. I will make the payment shortly.
I assume you will ship my laptop and your new drive all together. Right?
Again thanks very much for retrieving what you could.

The drive could not be seen by the operating system Win98 BIOS. Prior to the failure we got a couple of 'Disk Write error to Drive F:' that interrupted the program data acquisition run in Labview application. The drive was removed from that computer and attached by IDE cable to external USB hard drive box and plugged into XP computer. That computer could not see the drive in BIOS either. We measured 5V and 12V with drive attached and both were OK with ripple less than 2 mv. So drive is not pulling down power supplies. The drive doesn't spin up. The drive doesn't click.

Dear data recovery team,
We have reviewed the file folders that you emailed to us on above titled job, and we see that you were successful in recovering the data from our failed hard disk. Thanks... Walt P.

Drive recognized incorrectly in BIOS. Drive spins fine and does not make abnormal noises. Different identical PCBs were tried. Platter was moved to a known good chassis.

Thank you for getting my data on such quick turnaround and outstanding results.

I work for a small computer firm in Norway. One of my costumers has a broken
Seagate ST340823A, Firmware 3.39, 40GB. It seams like the disk is dead because the plate inside doesn't spin around.

Thank you for the great job in recovering our data. Tnx :-)
